Today for spooky season I wanted Samael, a Jewish & Muslim fallen Angel and former Watcher who brings knowledge and death.
Samael is sometimes the partner of Lilith after she left Adam. With Lilith they created numerous demons including Asmodeus, afterwards Yahweh made Samael infertile by taking away his genitals. The serpent from the garden of eden is sometimes one of his servants who helped bring knowledge to humans, Samael may also be responsible for planting the tree of knowledge. Samael is also referred to as the father of Cain in the Midrash. Samael may be responsible for the worship of the Golden Calf; a possible representation of Ba’al or numerous Kemetic bull gods like Apis, whose veneration was mentioned in Exodus.
Samael is sometimes seen as a parallel to Satan, Belial, Iblis, Azazel, Azrael, and the Demiurge.
In Kabbalah/Qabalah Samael and Lilith are part of the Qliphoth and are in opposition to Adam and Eve.
