Melqart is a Phoenician god of strength, death, the sun, sea, and Tyre Lebanon. He’s the son of Astarte and Ba’al. He was synchronized with Heracles, Asclepius, Adonis, Apis, Amun, Mithra, Kronos, Apollo, and Zeus. In his cult he was also called Tyrian Heracles.
