Krotos

Today I wanted to write about Krotos, a Hellenic Satyr or Centaur associated with archery known for being the inventor of applause. Krotos is a son of Pan and Eupheme. He was raised on Mount Helicon alongside the Muses where he developed a great love for the arts and created applause to show his appreciation.

Kallikantzaros

Today I wanted to write about Kallikantzaros, a Balkan and Greek malicious spirit that comes out for two weeks after the winter solstice, or from December 25th to January 6th depending on the region. Kallikantzaros lives underground sawing away at the roots of the world tree only coming up to terrorize mortals, especially punishing adulterers,

Chiron

As the sun has moved into Sagittarius I wanted to write about Chiron today. He’s a semi-immortal centaur in hellenism associated with healing and wisdom. He’s a son of Kronos and Philyra but was fostered by Apollo and Artemis. He is married to the nymph Chariclo. Chiron is said to be the wisest of all
